What types of figurative language is used in Charles Dickens' Great Expectations?

Task: Now that you have read the first four chapters, what is Dickens' style based on what various kinds of figurative language are evident in Dickens' Great Expectations?

  1. in the book great expectations charles dickens uses a very elusive,old school kind of language. throughout the book there are various kinds of figurative language. in chapter one page 13 dickens uses a metaphor "the sky was just a row of long angry red lines and dense black lines intermixed. here he was describing the atmosphere and describing how the sky was percieved without using like or as.
